If someone says that you can’t get inspired by an environmentally-friendly home, he should think again. As Clayton Homes, manufacturer of manufactured housing and modular homes is building houses so that the total scrap and waste from them can fit in less than 30 gallon waste containers. All the homes are built indoors in climate-controlled manufacturing facility to make sure the result is high quality. They mainly manufacture one- and two-story houses with sizes from 500 square feet to 2400 square feet (in meters, 46m2 to 220m2). The prices are affordable, mainly ranging from $40 000 to $100 000, and of course, some below, some above that level.
Recently Clayton Homes announced that Si and Christine Robertson from the hit A&E reality show Duck Dynasty are also among the people who will be living in a Clayton Home. Their home will be 2,123 sq. ft in size, have three bedrooms, two baths, open floor plan and a nice traditional Southern wrap-around porch. The model for their home is Sequoia. Kevin Clayton, the CEO of Clayton Homes said that “Si and Christine browsed homes together, but Si’s wife made the final selection.” Si giggled and said, “Look, the woman is the one who needs to be happy, she’s going to be there. Hey, I’m just going to visit and sleep.”
